What it is: Rumble Fighter(Known as Gem Fighter in Korea), is an up to 8 player online fighting game that plays like Powerstone, but with greater emphasis on fighting(as opposed to throwing tables) and fighting styles. After each fight players earn carats they can use to learn new fighting styles, customize their character, or buy exocores(powered up states that give you more attack options).
Hell Yeah! :D
- Skill based gameplay(Levels are only for unlocking some items and gaining 10-hit combos at level 20 and don’t increase stats at all)
- Dozens of fighting styles including some very similar to Tekken’s, like Dragon Style (Marshall Law’s, and even has his backflip kick combos), Capoeira, and Jin Taekwondo (Similar to Hwang’s style).
- You can customize your avatar.
- You can make Terry Bogard.
- Better yet, you can make Terry Bogard AND use Terry Bogard’s fighting style(Known as Korosu ingame).
- Ring Outs
- You can turn Chat Off. You can turn Chat Off. Stated twice for emphasis because some players in chat are particularly annoying.
- Many of the character customizations and exocores reference other popular series like Bleach(Cursed Blade), Full Metal Alchemist, Naruto(Neji and Gara’s eye styles available, and you can even make Rock Lee), Dragonball Z(Kame Sennin Style Orange Uniform), DeathNote(L and Yagami’s hairstyles just got released today), Powerpuff Girls(As an eye style), and even World of Warcraft (Tauren Transformation).
- Different classes to better suit player’s strategy, i.e., Soul Fighter’s extra speed helps for rushdown gameplay, Alchemist’s extra defense is ideal for turtling, etc.
Hell No! D:
- Some of the exocores tilt the game’s balance in favor of punk kids who spend the most(They can still be beaten, it just takes more effort to block or avoid their special move spam.)
- Takes quite a few matches to earn enough for a decent fighting style.
- Ring Outs
- Real world moneys for virtual items(Certain items require microtransactions, though most can be bought with Carats)
- Yet another game from Korea
- Like any other online game some players in chat are particularly annoying.
- Once you reach Pro Channel the gap between levels becomes so large that you might as well be playing in Open Channel.
- Graphics might be too cutesy for hardcore fight gangsters.
Deep and Technical
- Tech Throws
- Juggles
- Recovery times and Punishing
- 10-Hit Combos
- Input Delay on combos on some fighting styles
- Charged Attacks and Guard Breaks on some fighting styles
- Rising Attacks, Wakeup Games
- Countering (Some styles turn countering into a catch throw)
