To be or not to be HG

Posted on May 19th, 2009

So…I decided to put all my future articles on the new Congress of Awesome blog and to convert this existing blog into a personal one. It really should be one since it’s called ‘Hyperguy.net’ after all. I mean, designwise, the name would be rather misleading otherwise. Could you imagine someone’s disappointment upon visiting?

Possible HG.net Visitor: “What? This is Hyperguy.net? But there’s no information about Hyperguy whatsoever! What a waste! Screw this, I’m going to go play stickball.exe! Fuckin’ night elves what the fuck with them.”

So fuck it. Go to the Congress of Awesome blog for cool things.  I’m just going to talk about stupid shit nobody cares about(With the exception of myself!) here. O_o

But yeah!  One thing that I wanted to write about today is the concept of web identities. Read the rest of this entry »

Hyperguy.net 2003-2009

Posted on April 2nd, 2009

April 12th, 2009 will mark the 6th Anniversary of Hyperguy.net.

It swells me with pride to have kept it up so long(LOL).

In all seriousness though, at this point I feel like I want to move on to something else. I feel like I’ve accomplished what I originally had intended back when I first made the site and that since then have pretty much just been hanging around.

Granted, previously the site didn’t have much of a rhyme or reason to it, at this point I’m really, really craving one, and I don’t think I can satisfy that notion here anymore. Read the rest of this entry »

Drawing Tablet Acquired!

Posted on January 2nd, 2009

So yeah.  I was planning on getting one of these much later in life, since they’re expensive as hell, but I came across one for super cheap online and just had to put down the coin.

It’s not a Wacom, but I can’t really complain since I’ve never used one. Read the rest of this entry »

To all who’ve been curious as to where I’ve been…

Posted on December 6th, 2008

(All two of you. ;D)

I’ve been doing nothing put playing World of Warcraft ever since Wrath of the Lich came out.  I’ve already got 3 level 35 characters on a brand new server, and even helped found a large, active guild, which I also created a website for.

http://lordsofwarguild.net << That’s us.

If you’ve been trying to contact me, don’t forget my primary methods of contact, as listed on Hyperguy.net’s contact page. Read the rest of this entry »

Fuck you give succubus! >:O

DC Unlimited’s World of Warcraft Succubus Figure

DC Unlimited’s releasing a figure of my most favorite World of Warcraft character evar, teh Warlock succubus, and I’m excited about it since my desk is hiring for badass piece of plastic that sits there and keeps all the other pieces of plastic in line(Must know MSOffice).

That’s awesome!  Fuck yeah!  Been wanting them to make a Succubus figure since I first saw her.  I mean, being able to gain a succubus as a pet in WoW greatly influenced my descision to play as warlock class, aside from being a class whose form of attack is essentially a death remote(More on that later.)

So I’m pumped that they’re making a succubus figure, and would like one very much, but… Read the rest of this entry »

Stop molesting the nonexistant gallery

Posted on November 16th, 2008

There isn’t a gallery.

There isn’t a gallery.

So why have 2,000 people already been to the gallery that doesn’t exist which isn’t and when not?

Dunno lol.  I was irresponsible and left a link to a nonexistent gallery(that doesn’t exist and never will) on the site’s template.

So yeah, there’s no gallery.  There never will be one, ever.  Even though 2,000 people have already been to it, and may have bookmarked it already.  Sorry guys, try again!  Nice try!  Gameshark and Game Genie won’t unlock it, because it doesn’t exist.  So, please stop visiting the nonexistant gallery that doesn’t exist and never will, because it’s not there though it never was yet people have visited.

There is no gallery.

There is no gallery.

There is no gallery.

Ever.

Carrerachan released!

Posted on September 11th, 2008

http://hyperguy.net/carrerachan/

Carrerachan is a brand new image board I created to satisfy the need for a Viper image board and to also  make up for the lack of image boards related to my interests of fighting games, mmos, 2D graphics, and visual novels.  It runs on Kusaba 1.0.4 and is fitted with a custom template with colors taken directly from Carrera as she appears in Viper V6R.

Please read the news and start posting right away.

The Demon Boss will Ruin you.

Posted on September 9th, 2008

(Originally posted in 2003.  Commentary highlighted in blue.)

Hi! Recently a friend of mine instant messaged me and asked if I’d seen the Berserk anime. I told him that I had only played the Dreamcast video game. Then, from the mists, that infernal creature of the dark regurgitated like a reviving corpse into my memory. Of course, I’m talking about the Demon Boss you meet during the middle stages in Berserk. Now, this guy has a name, but even if he didn’t to all gamers we would be known as FEAR, but to me, he will always be known as

THE DEMON BOSS

A picture of THE DEMON BOSS from the Berserk anime. He may look like most other demons, but I can assure you, he is Satan on a stick.

PSO on Dreamcast…AGAIN?!

Posted on September 5th, 2008

My last playthrough of Mabinogi someone mentioned to me the existence of a private server for Phantasy Star Online.  Now, Phantasy Star Online was the very first MMO I played back in 2300 B.C., and I played it on the Dreamcast with the neat keyboard pheripheral.

So I did some research on it, since you know, I’ve got a black belt in GoogleFu, and found this:

:D!!

Not only is it a private server for Phantasy Star Online, but it’s one that, that… Read the rest of this entry »

Mabinogi Generation 3 Released

Posted on August 25th, 2008

This is a little late, but Mabinogi Generation 3 has just been released. This update includes a new mainstream quest, Rank 1-5 skills, pets, and additional character, clothing, and armor styles.

Personally, I’m still on Generation 2’s mainstream quest.  It’ll be a while before I’ll be able to complete, let alone attempt, the new G3 questline.  That’s all fine and dandy though since I hear this is the last major storyline update until Generation 8.

As awesome as G3 is, it’s still just part of a set of more anticipated features.  Namely, you still won’t be able to turn into a dark knight upon completion of G3’s mainstream quest until after Generation 3 Season 4(aka G3S4)’s released.  Other yet to be released features for G3 are housing, a new PvP arena in Rabbie, and mounts.

Paladin vs. Dark Knight global PvP should be introduced as soon as dark knight is released, and given North America Mabinogi’s current server setup it’ll be interesting to see if Nexon will opt to have full PvP servers added alongside the current ones or to only leave it as an option that can be flagged on or off.

Phew! Almost done with layout!

Posted on August 23rd, 2008

I’ve been working on it since late last night.  It took me a while to figure how I wanted to arrange its colors but after toiling at it for so long I think it’s finally starting to take shape.

You probably already noticed, but the navigation up top’s been reworked too.  I’ve made it eaiser to find posts related to some of the more popular topics I’ve blogged about on Hyperguy.net.  So say, for example you’d like to find all the posts related to Viper or Thunder Warrior Raidy.  Just hover over the ‘Hentai’ link and a dropdown menu should appear that’ll allow you to view all posts related to that category, or just hit the ‘Hentai’ link itself to see them all!  Wow!  Like magic!

Okay, okay, I know that’s basic blog stuff.  Still, I’m excited that I finally got it working.  I’m the type who doesn’t like to go over every fine detail when using software; I’ll muddle through, and if I need the answer to something I’ll look it up specifically.  I don’t want to make time to read documentation when the things I’m trying to do are simple and should be intuitive anyway.

So!  I just have to finish up the color scheme on this layout and add a few sections and manage a little more content before I’ll be satisfied with the result.

After I’ve done all the basic stuff sitewise, I’d like to try out some new things as well.  I’m looking forward to it.

Progress!

Posted on August 21st, 2008

I fooled around with Wordpress some more and found out how to do exactly what it was I was complaining about last blog post. Who knew that only a little reading and a few searches could fix the problem? I thought that since it was so deep into the template I’d have to do a complete overhaul of the navigation’s code in order to get the effect I wanted. Not so.

Okay, now I can finally get back to putting the site together. Speaking of which, some of you might have noticed that parts of the site have been dismantled.

The H Gallery has been deleted.

I’ve been wanting to delete it for a few months now. I finally made a large backup of it and then promptly deleted it. Now, as I understand it a lot of people come to this site just for the gallery. Well, that’s nice and all, but it’s only a small part of hyperguy.net, and I never originally intended for it to get as large as it did.

Ugh, Wordpress makes no sense sometimes…

Posted on August 16th, 2008

It’s website restructuring time again and this time around I have a lot of content I need to put up and a whole batch of new ideas, all of which are dependent on site structure.

But Wordpress is a blog with CMS features and a lot of it’s functionality just doesn’t make much sense to me.

I mean, structurally, as a blog, it all makes sense. You’re supposed to be able to make blog posts and be able to use different categories so that structurally people can find all of the blog posts that are related.

And then there’s custom pages you can add in addition to blog posts, but where it really gets nutty is that themes don’t automatically make navigation for blog post categories but do for custom pages.

So say I’ve got a bajillion blog posts I’ve made this year and I wanna put them all in one category named “Articles” and want that to automatically appear as a link in the site’s navigation. Turns out I can’t without either hard coding it or going through template tag mumbo jumbo just to get it to work.

Everything else about Wordpress I absolutely adore, but little things like this really waste my time, that is, time I could use to pump out more content instead of having to wrestle with the layout.

woot, new layout

Posted on August 5th, 2008

Because the last layout felt particularly underwhelming.  I never fancied myself as good with layouts so this time around I’m using a template(which I’ll probaby heavily modify).
